it's very hard to get a bp6 to install off a cdrom

i have 1 2K disc that actually works

you might try getting a bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com

Could this be caused by CD-ROM drive? Sometimes the lens could get contaminated by dust or the Installation disk cannot be read properly.

I have had CD-ROM drives that work fine but somtimes just couldn't read a few CD-ROMs.

nah this wouldn't be the case

the HPT366 contoller is notorious for causing problems with harddrives

hence i don't use it

and not only the hard drives.... try to put some CD-ROM or better some CD-Writer...

And then you will see what I mean...

Exactly not the best experience you might have with your hardware.... :D

 I am thinking right now of some silicon sealing those HTP666 IDE connectors forever

Just for not getting them connected by mistake hehehehe :)
