Was ACPI and APM enabled in the BIOS before you installed your OS?

On one of my systems, the options were not set. I am running WinXP Pro, can they be enabled ? and work correctly? Or will I have to Re-Install XP, If so has any one had experience with a re-install of this OS and gotten past the "ReActivation", I've heard it's a nightmare getting past "microcrap"

taken from there web-site

BIOS:
2M-bit Flash EPROM
Award PCI BIOS with Green and PnP Function
IDE Auto-configuring
PC97/98 Ready
ACPI Compliant
DMI Support
Instant-On

Page 46 of the user's manual reads:
4.6 Power Managemet Setup Menu

ACPI Function : ENABLED
Power Management : USER DEFINED
PM Control by APM : APM
Video Off Method : V/H SYNC + BLANK

So My guess is that it WILL do the shutdown when asked to do so, BUT, I think the OS has to be capable of this ALSO.

This is quite funny, in the bios..the ACPI function is hidden(cant enable or disable or see it), I was looking at the bios in an editor, its enabled but hidden... but ive got a bad headache from it, will try it when I get back home again. The manual shows it there.
