CPU Temperature Probes

Post by InactiveX »

When you install your CPUs, ensure you get an accurate temperature reading by bending the probes slightly so that they protrude marginally above the socket. Then when you put the CPUs in, the probes will be touching the hot part of the chips.

Also, a dab of silicone thermal compound on the probes' contact areas can't do any harm.

I have done this on my BP6 and the temps are always within one degree of each other.

Dave_rave: have you tried contacting Abit about it? When I contacted them concerning my fan headers, they sent me the transistors in question. I guarantee that the little sucker is about as hard to replace as a cap!

I only got one BP6 and just sent it in to Abit RMA...they are currently

OUT OF STOCK

and offered me a "store credit" equal to the amount paid on my invoice.

WAAAAAAA
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining
