Building a "new" box, need ideas pls! (video inten

If you had all the "spair parts" needed to build a new (dual cpu of course

!) box and all you needed were the cpu's, mobo & memory and you had $500 to $1000 USD to "play" with, what would you build?

Dual Xeon's?
Dual AMD's?

Any left-over cash to go towards a 265meg+ dual head vid card.

Must be available from eBay, no weird off the wall stuff please!

Under those conditions I'd go the INTEL route with dual 2.8Gig hyperthreading chips just to see what apps actually gain from dualing with hyperthreading. Maybe using "affinity filters" to try assign 4 seperate benchtests or something.

If memory serves...no dual Athlon64 system exists.

Its going to cost quite a bit but should be within your budget
