Hmm, whats a true overclocking processor the oem, retail or.

Post by Blueneko »

I was really thinking last night when I was talking to someone about selling my P4 1.4 to em, when I went to double check what the cache sizes were etc, I just now notice it wasnt retail, nor a oem cpu. This was the "Intel Confidential" CPU they used for Enginnering Samples!
I won the cpu off ebay and didnt pay much attention to what the core said, i only tested it to make sure it worked.

Only last night (After owning it for 2 weeks) I Noticed this. So then I determined if there were any celeron/coppermine cpus that are still floating around that could of been used with the BP6.

But I have this cpu and just dont really know what its true output can be since the multiplier ISNT LOCKED!!!!
whew, excuse me
ok ok........

suggestions?? :D

Yeah, I suggest you consider yourself very lucky! Has the seller got any more? :)

Have you got a MoBo for it that will allow multiplier adjustment in the BIOS (like the BP6 does)?

I emailed the seller, and he said he has a friend who works at intel for testing cpu's or whatever. I also asked him if he overclocked it, then replied saying he tested it at 800 ~ 1.4 between various P3 Cpu's. And the only board I had was an asus P4B mobo that uses sd-ram. But I kinda used it with a 1.6A I have. Im either probably going to use the 1.4A or sell it or keep it. Dont really know yet. But I would like to see what other p4 boards overclock the most efficently. And I was looking at some watercooling one day.......

After a second, closer look, at that picture I would also say that it is a pretty used keeper too! Look at all the scratches on that thing!
