$24,000.00

I wonder what Daffy Duck would think about that?

It looks like a pretty clean case of extortion, or some other illegal con/scam. They're using emotional blackmail to pressure people who have a soft spot about actually killing animals to donating. I think it's pretty sick. I don't have a problem with eating meat (or even killing animals, quite frankly, I think it is a valid thing to do), but to make money through emotional blackmail, that's screwed up.

The PayPal link is down because PayPal got mobbed by animal rights activists, and pulled the link. The savetoby idiots better not get to touch the money.

So, I say, take back the money and Kill the Wabbit!

Unfortunately, if money is donated for a specified purpose then it has to be used for that purpose or returned. May chance paypal can return it but its all together possable that "Toby" will be saved and the person that ran the add will get to keep the money.

Does anyone know if this was a real scam...or just someone pulling a joke that backfired?

Extortion? Blackmail? Nothing of the sort!

It's someone's idea of a joke, however distasteful.

If anyone did send money, then they are playing along with it, or otherwise it can be considered some sort of Stupidity Tax.

I don't eat meat myself. But I think anyone who is taken in by this and sends money is being more than a little naive. As I said, a sick joke, if you don't like it, ignore it, but it's not blackmail, extortion, or particularly screwed up in the great scheme of things.

Now where is my pet rabbit? I'm hungry.
Like BP6.com? Not a member?
Then why the hell not? It's great!
