Nope, I don't but I would like to have one. I just haven't found a good reason to buy one yet, especially since I got one through work.

I had a "vintage" laptop once. A Compaq 486. It did everything they are supposed to do but it was too much hassel to keep up with it that I never used it away from the house. I realized the risk of loosing it was greater then the any value I gained from having it. I lost it in the flood when tropical storm Allison hit Houston 3 years ago. I doubt I would get another unless it was free or really cheap.
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining

I would like one to keep my legs warm during the winter months. ;)

Were there ever any SMP laptops made? That would be ace.

I don't think so but they are predicting that the dual core processors will be a big hit in laptops.

PC Company to Bring Dual-Processor Notebooks
Xbit labs is usually pretty good but this article was pretty poor.
For 2-way machines Intel and AMD supply Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron microprocessors that require special chipsets and special mainboards with pretty complicated layout and a number of layers inside the PCB
Well, duh. First they forget to mention Athlon MP's which are still out on the market. The note on the complicated layout and layers seemed to have only one purpose in the article and that was to fill out an otherwise boring article that didn't have that much content.
Dual-processor configurations also require very efficient cooling, as two chips generate more heat than one CPU.
Whoa! I did NOT know that!

Got a wide-screen HP on a spur of the moment purchase at Costco. It was a -$300 deal from a return and at $1399 could not resist? Had it for 9 months now & very pleased overall. runs a bit hot & sucks a LOT of power - melted the cigarette adapter plug in my van on a summer trip.
