aight

i got me another bp6

but man let me tell you,

im gonna have to replace ALL of the 1500 MFD 6.3V caps i mean ALL

and 6 of the 1000MFD caps

and i still need to do the VTT mod on mine and this one

but... pumpin out 3 WU's a day x2 w00t

gonna turn this new BP6 into a data server most likely, that or it'll be my router not completely sure yet... either way it'll be a seti cruncher

When you say VTT mod, do you mean replacing EC10 or Q6?

Hyperspace the VTT is the q6 replacement

looking at it i may just stick with the EC10 because i have a rev 1.0 board...

now, to do the EC10 mod you put a 1500MFD 6.3V 85F cap in the 100 MFD caps place?

hahah what scsi controller are you using?

i have a adaptec AVA-1209(or 1206 can't remember) and run 3 50 pin SCSI perfectly

The VTT Fix was originally the Q6 replacement but I think the real fix is replacing the EC10 capacitor with one like you mentioned.

That's correct, as confirmed by somethingburning who came up with the fix in the first place (and to whom we're all very much indebted.)

i've heard that you can do both and add more stability

but incrasing the filter will definately help with those voltage swings

im gonna go today and get the caps, then i gotta find my soldering iron and we're set to attempt resusication

Its a adaptec Triple A "AAA-133U2" 3 channel scsi raid controller card, it works great in anything else but the bp6 motherboard. Using four 18 gig barracuda drives. It works, but seems to time out and machine doesnt crash, maybe just a hardware conflict.

I got the second Bp6 running!

but it only has 1 cel in it now... waiting to get a socket a board so i can disect my GF's old POS HP and put that other celeron in this new BP6

right now im trying to get 98se to install

2 things

1: where can i get those 1500MFD 6.3V 80C radial caps?

2: i got a nice 40G and a 20G with 10 2GB scsi (if my gf lets me... which im sure she will)

all for my next bp6
