Fit vast micro OS
Fascist or vomit

Microsoft Windows Vista

"Longhorn" was a completely, utterly, totally STUPID name. And so is "Vista".

There's a PCMag article here.
Microsoft has dropped the "My's": "My Documents" is now "Documents."
Fantasticola! Those "My"s have always really got on my nerves.

:?: Derek: Is it time for a "Windows Vista" sub-section of the Messageboard yet?

Do you think that the BP6 can run Vista??

Maybe it can. Many are saying that it is just like a facelift and service pack on top of XP but I have also heard rumors about problems with older hardware. Anybody seen the minimum requirements yet?

My 2-cents worth.
1) Vista problems will warrent their own section.

2) If Vista has a problem with older hardware, it may be because the necessary drivers leave holes that hackers can exploit to get past MS security.

3) Ya'd think that MS and INTEL could come up with something NEW once in a while.
MS...many are saing that Vista is a facelift on XP...which is a facelift on 2000 Professional...which is a facelife(although a big one) on NT4.(ever hear of NTFS)
INTEL...the P4 is an enhanced P-III which is an enhanced P-II which is an enhanced Pentium Pro. If they ran at the same clock speeds, a good 6xP-PRO would out preform a P4 on most NON-graphic, number crunching, applications.

Virus writers have created proof of concept viruses targeting the scripting language behind prototype versions of Vista, the next version of Windows. An Austrian virus writer has published five simple viruses targeting Microsoft Command Shell (MSH), the command line interface and scripting language, in a virus writing magazine. None of these pieces of malware have been named as yet.
