There is some interesting news about Google's plans to create a browser.

Hmmm. Strange. It seems as if they will be using the Gecko rendering engine. That means that they will be creating another Mozilla/Firefox compatible browser with their own add-ons.

Why don't they just use the modular format found in Firefox to build in the stuff that they want? I mean, they want to integrate Gmail, search capability and pop-up blocking. The latter two are already found in Firefox and I can't see how integrating Gmail as a module can't be done?

The biggest asset of doing this in Firefox would be that Firefox is found on quite a few platforms already. Is Google going to support more than one OS?

I am sceptical already...
