ATI X800 and nVidia 6800 GT Review

Post by hyperspace »

This is a really good review from the people at "The Tech Report".

http://www.techreport.com/reviews/2004q ... dex.x?pg=1

It compares several other ATI and nVidia VPU's in the review. ATI has a great VPU but I think I will go the the 6800 GT. Any new card I get, will blown me away. My best is a Gforce 4 MX 440 SE (NV17 chipset).

you should think about the two power plugs for the greatest and only one for GT.... is there any catch? maybe there willl not be enough power when overclocking only with one plug? who knows until then...

That's a good article BCN. A lot of sense in that.

Another factor that is often overlooked is how good the card's API implimentation is.

ATI seems to rule the roost here for the time being, at least in terms of DirectX.

As long as performance is close, I stick with Nvidia for their drivers.
One too many driver nightmares over the years with ATI!!

bah NVidia's drivers are EVIL!
ATI works for me
and it doesn't require 2 power connectors to keep it stable plus ATI renders prettier :-D
