WinXP Service Pack 2 Beta

Post by Derek »

Beta testers have their hands on Microsoft's next Service Pack for WindowsXP. Here's a snip:
BetaNews.Com wrote:Microsoft is gearing up to release a beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 2. An e-mail sent out Thursday invited testers to install and evaluate the pre-release code when it becomes available within the next several weeks.

The second Windows XP service pack is the first major upgrade to Microsoft's flagship operating system. The package is slated to include a variety of bug fixes, as well as new security features, improved patch distribution and updated Internet technologies.

They sent us a copy at Oki on the 24th I think it was. I installed it on a multilingual machine and it made some of the other languages show english in some places, like right clicking in the start menu and stuff.

Not been running SP2 very long, no problems so far, internet connection firewall slightly improved, "pop-ups" blocked by default in Internet explorer. So mostly subtle changes, Happy New Year all.
