Motherboard Monitor 5 Config Wizard

Post by Derek »

Alex has created a utility for Motherboard Monitor that is designed to ease the initial configuration of temperature sensors, fans sensors, voltage sensors and some other settings. It works by contacting a download site (from a list of download sites specified within the program) and generates a list of motherboards compatible with Motherboard Monitor. Once you have selected your motherboard, it will proceed to download an XML file and then configure the basic MBM settings as described above.
Alex van Kaam wrote: when you start the mbmwiz.exe it will close MBM and start the wizard, the wizard will show you what date the current xml file is, you can press the update button to get a newer version of the xml file

the xml file in the zip is dated sept 2, online version is dated sept 3

if you press the update button the wizard will log onto the web (first chello.nl and then livewiredev.com) to get a list of locations where the xml file can be downloaded.

on purpuse I have included a fake url in this list so we can test what happens if it can't get the xml file

once it has this list it will randomly select a download site and start the download, once it's done you should see the date change. If the fake url is selected you will be requested to select another url from the pulldown box to get the xml file

the next page will show a list of all boards MBM supports, select your board in question press next and the wizard will rename your current mbm5.ini file and create a new one.

one this is done it will start MBM for you and you should have a basic MBM that is setup correctly, so you should get your temps in the tray, your fans selected etc. etc.
See this post for more information and to download the wizard: http://www.livewiredev.com/bbs/showthre ... eadid=4669

this is not a bad thing.
once you see that the two core voltages are going to be the same anyway, and if one is off a bit the machine probably will stop anyway, it's nice to watch the VTT line to see if the 1.50volt varies and you might need the capacitor upgrade. :?
