Hope Im not to late.
I had an early Gigabyte 462 and XP1800. It did NOT have the extra power input for the cpu. I tested a newer cpu on the board and fried it.

Make sure you don't cross technologies in testing.

The discription pretty much sums the thing up. It will hold a Tully level P-III or Celeron, AKA FCPGA-2 cpu. I think those run up to 1.4GHz. That chip and the convertor will plug into the older socket designed for 370 FC-PGA that ranges 533a through 1.1GHz or so. The VP6 uses that design. I don't be...

Good work apw6270! The BP6 lives. Hmmmmm. "Meniscus". I like that word. Must use it more often. OK, did I miss something? apw6270, Sorry but I was offline since last year. You got the right caps IMO and sounds like you did good enough work on the soldering. Let us know how things work out. The bigg...

apw6270, You discribe the clasic "bad capicator" issue that is muchly discussed. You can restore the board to full operational ability by replacing the caps. If you can do it yourself then I recomend getting free replacements from Jackson. They fit and are the right kind of caps. Heres a link to kin...

In a slowly evolving and upgrading forest of about 80 servers, my employer is still using a 486 for our email server. Thankfully we have locally hosted profiles and a peer to peer network. I thought about turning them on to used BP6s, but.... Hey, I will ask if they have any and I can trade ...

tenchimuyo93, How the heck did you come up w/that handle? Preformance at 92FSB depends what you are doing with the board. If cpu intensive you will be happy. If file serving or whatever you wont. Anyway, let us know. X-man, Thanks for the reminder. I forget about the BP6 OC king, Holodeck2 because i...

KliK,
Did you come up with an acceptable solution?

It sounds like you are requiring a single partition drive that is over 137GIG.

I know its not the first choice, but maybe consider the network card moving to ISA on the end of the board freeing a PCI slot.
