s1ngs1ng If you boot from floppy, load device driver(s) with F6, establish drive letter access to the CDROM, go to the directory that kuun indicated, and run WINNT.EXE, as he indicated -- all the files needed for installing O/S get copied to your hdisk in an I386 folder. After a reboot, the process ...

Ive always lusted after that Swiftech MCX370-CR2 heatsink!! Looks like a good fit to me - seems to only have mount holes for 60mm fans though. I would add 80mm-to-60mm fan adapter(s) and pair it up with a larger airflow & quieter fan. The heat transfer potential of this heatsink simply demands more ...

Run the CDROM drive off the ATA33 controller & it should boot.
If not, use a Win98 disk to boot with CDROM support & then change to that drive to launch the OS install.

Realisticaly, the BP6 is not likely to run reliably with the FSB set faster than 110MHz. This means a CPU with a FSB spec for 133 will be underclocked by a factor of 110/133 => .827 Your 733MHz chips will drop back to 606MHz in this senario. This is why the Celeron 366 chips were so poplar as they c...

If you even do get it to to work initially, it will almost certainly screw up the drive soon after. Don't waste your time troubleshooting HPT366 problems running up to date drives. Only appropriate response is to retire it & install a Promise ATA100/133 card. You will then begin to see the drive per...

OK, just got my new Promise SATA RAID 5 card which will take my spare 128MB DDR DIMM too. Less than $170 for a caching RAID 5 controller (with 0MB) is not bad at all. Well having already placed a Geforce 5200 128MB card in my BP6, I would advise going up to the Geforce 5600 Ultra for ~$110 on Web. Or if your budget can handle it - the Geforce 5700-Ultra. The 5200 series is just too limited for serious video demands & you don't save enough money not to jump up to ...

What O/S was running on the BP6?
I know that you can just reinstall WinXP-Pro right over the BP6 build & it will pick up all the the old S/W setups as it adds the support for new H/W.

You do NOT have to do a clean build - just reinstall to same folder of old boot drive. This saves a lot of time.

Just take a needle nose pliers and twist the bugger pin off.
Triple check to make sure you are removing the correct pin though!!
The pin is not needed & just causes problems.

Try booting with each CPU one at a time in either socket.
One socket is always more solid than the other & It may still boot OK if you get the better CPU in the better socket.

If this fails, I would get the board out on the bench & test with one CPU, one RAM module plus video card only. Good luck.
