One of the big features of the BP6 is it's ability to be adjusted fairly finely, go into BIOS setup and you can increment the clockspeed..... your 366 cpus have a fixed internal multiplier of 5.5..... as a start you could try something like 92Mhz fsb which would give you just over 500Mhz... You may ...

Hi, it sounds like your Highpoint is the problem, mine will boot various versions of Windows at stock clock depending on the drivers. Currently I am running XP on it and it absolutely will not boot at stock clock..

Very stable at 75Mhz fsb so that's fine!

That VP is a bit sad looking! Sorry sight to see! For what it is worth I used arctic siler epoxy in my watercooled and peltiered BP6.... When epoxy is cold it is reasonably brittle, I seperated the coolers, peltiers and cpus with a sharp knife! I still plan to transfer all the watercooling component...

Both CPUs have the same front-side bus frequency... that is defined by the hardware of the motherboard... the only way you can have 2 cpus on a BP6 operating at different clockspeeds to each other is to have CPUs with a different multiplier... ie a 400 in one socket and a 466 in the other. I think y...

I did exactly what you are not supposed to do with Arctic Silver epoxy, I figured it was worth a try.....

This "trusted computing" is insiduous, I know some of Microsofts activities are contentious such as Digital rights management etc but they may be in an awkward position regarding piracy that is committed on Windows machines.... although car manufacturers are not usually sued by people that have acci...

In the old days of peltiers and watercooling on my BP6 with dual 466 it would POST at 7*92 Mhz but never ran at that clock speed... it ran at 7*80Mhz fine... my northbridge was cooled by a fan blowing in roughly the right area.... Machine runs with OEM heatsinks and fans now at 7*75Mhz... not as fas...

XP Professional and SP1

I have installed SP1 on both my overclocked BP6 and my VP6, also on a single CPU Athlon. No problems so far, a lot of files seem to be amended but nothing has radically changed. The vulnerability is detailed very well on the Register site, surprisingly they spell out exactly how to do it!

My overclocked and tortured BP6 runs XP pro well... unusually I am using the Highpoint controller.... Although it does not like some combinations of BIOS/DRIVER/BUS clock..... the current combination is stable at 75Mhz fsb but refuses to boot at 66Mhz! I used to run at 82Mhz fsb until I reflected at...

A friends BP6 exhibited similar symptoms, we both run deskstars and we both have been running XP pro on BP6s.... his would load any OS except XP.... we struggled for days... going through the usual fdisk etc numerous times.... in the end I resorted to stretching the ribbon cable from his drive to an...
