I think the hard drive light is on because at the moment the system is crashing, windows is attempting to dump the log to the hard drive. http://labmice.techtarget.com/troubleshooting/memorydumps.htm Oh, and a good bootable memory tester is memtest or memtest86, google it up, download, burn the imag...

Some HSFs are made to work with the fan sucking rather than blowing. Alphas (6035, 8045) have a shroud and it forces the air to be pulled up lower on the sink than with out it. Alot of the thermalright sinks work equally well both ways also. Try it and see if it works. If not, try to fashion a shrou...

True enough, I got one from them, because a seller said he "didn't know" it had bad caps... .they were exploded all over everything, not just swollen. I was happy to share my RMA experience on here, I always wondered when and if someone read it if they would try to buy up bad bps for cheap and cash ...

You do know I was just busting on the gig thing, as I think you meant meg instead, right? Good luck with your new bp6! Definition: (From "bogus", "MIPS") The timing unit of the Linux kernel. A BogoMips is an unscientific measurement of processor speed made by the Linux kernel when it boots, to calib...

Wow, an 8gig AGP card! That must cost a fortune! And I thought there were no 333 celerons except for slot 1???? :?: :?:

My 400s love 92fsb for 552mhz. YMMV.

Not really on topic, but I don't believe that Xandros installs a SMP kernel by default. Might want to check on that.

I don't know if they'll ship to you but http://www.inflowdirect.com/thercpucoolf.html has really good prices on some older heatsinks and fans that will work on the bp6.

What chipset does that Epox board use? Aladin, MVP, TX, etc?
The three memory slots can accommodate up to 384 Mbytes of PC-100 or 66 Mhz memory; but, the 1 MByte of cache' with 8 tag bits will only cache' 256 MBytes of it. 256 Mbytes is, therefore, the practical memory limit.

I know of no single socket 7 boards that will take that much RAM. As far as multipliers, there are usually jumpers on the motherboard that will change the multiplier, sometimes there are the settings silkscreened on next to the jumpers. Just like when you changed the voltage for the 233 voltage OC.

Can one call dibs on this message board? If so, I would like dibs pending some pictures of the motherboard, specifically the capacitors on the board. What revision is the board? Do you have any references on heatware.com or beerology.com? Thanks!

davd_bob, but if he was at work with a monitor with greater capabilities then he might have changed it to something that will not work on his home monitor. At least this is what I think he means.

Well, I got a really nice, (almost) new, shiny BP6 in the mail from Abit today. Wow. I haven't tested it yet, I can't wait. They still don't use any thermal interface material (grease or tape) under the greenie! Now I have four BP6s sitting idle for need of cases and PSUs, and maybe a few HDs. I kno...

Sounds like you got the trojan/worm/whatever that causes Windows to reboot constantly. Sasser or maybe one of the other ones I would think. The first thing to do after installing XP is to do all the updates immediately, or install with a CD that has the updates slipstreamed into it.

I just never updated my sig. I am running a VP6 now, and have all the BP6s on hold, I am waiting for my two antec psus to get back from RMA. My original bp6 had a neo370 and a cellie 566 at 850 (100fsb), but when I wanted to give smp a try I got a couple 400s, 6*92=552, worked fine, and I got the 1/3 divisor. Since then I have also gotten two 366s, and also two 466s. Haven't tried to overclock the 466s too much yet, but the 366s did fine...

Get the expensive Klipse (spelling is wrong I know). But for gaming I suggest headphones/mic, especially for fps games.
