Do you think the ISA card solves the flash write error? I can't wait for other's input to I tried: Great... it worked without my AGP card, I get rid of the write errors and without any graphics card at all! I used the autoexec.bat to automatically flash at boot. You can throw away your (old) ISA ca...

Re: Any Idea On The Flash Writing Issue?

Sayang wrote:any idea?

by the way, the ISA card is a legend: the crisis recovery mode works with my old Rage 128 Fury AGP card!
The ISA card is not a legend, it works: I removed my AGP card and the write error vanished.
Obviously I didn't see anything without any gfx card in, I used the autoexec.bat

Great

Hi Sayang, If you have had a bad BIOS flash, you can start your BP6 with an old ISA video card and get a rudimentary display. From there you can flash the BIOS again with a boot floppy in the usual way. I have done this before on my BP6 when a flash went pfffft. Nowadays I always keep an ISA video ...

Thanks for the link, the pdf says:
Remove the BIOS ROM and manually reprogram it on an EEPROM programmer.
It's not too much helping though

procedure to use a flash writer

Hi lads,

My bios is screwed-up
However, I have access to a flash writer :D

Q: I dump the RV bios file (256ko) directly to the flash?

Thanks.

Same for me I flashed a bad BIOS: awdflash tells "checksum error"... anyway I forced by using the /f option and succeeded flashing it. Now I am like harker : the bios doesn't boot but tells ROM checksum error! Hopefully the bootblock software (that normally loads the bios) is intact and runs: it can...

Sayang, I was trying to get the Cele2 1100MHz chip to boot off the HPT366 at standard 100MHz FSB - no good. Slowing down was no help. I did not try to go faster than the 100FSB as a way th solve the bluescreen crashes. Is this what you are saying I should have done - faster FSB speed? I just explai...

Wolfram, I have (3) BP6 systems all runnibg WinXP-Pro. They all have Promise ATA100 cards in them. After many disk crashes & corruptions, I started to lose faith in the HPT366. When I did a CPU upgrade to Cele2 1.1GHz, the system would blue screen in 1-5Min with the Hdisk running from the HPT366. A...
