ok
now I see it
yup, the riser plugs in to a slot
hope the BP6 has a PCI slot in the right position for the case.
and the other two slots don't work, like most riser cards, through the PCI slot it's in
but through the leads to the other PCI slots.
nice idea

I've had a TV repair guy take out all my caps and replace them. with all the old caps in hand, we tested all the good looking ones, they were all duds. then we tested all the bad bulging caps, they all worked, sort of. I'd do the caps, anyway, unless you know they've been done. defintiley do the EC1...

also, I just put some big drives, 320gb, in a win2k box, and it needs the LBA-enhanced regedit hack from microsoft to get LBA 48 bit addressing to work. above 137gb pretty sure the BP6 would probably be before the previous hack to get above 64gb, or so. not sure of the number ... though the highpoin...

seems you can't post often enough about the onbaord hpt366 being flaky. with the proneness to failure of the onboard capacitors, the hpt seems to be the first place to show dying. and that is while killing your hard drives. posting often and hard, and can we keep it bumped or stickied, .... unless y...

hde, sounds like you are on the wrong ide socket
check you are on IDE1, not IDE3
or, easier, the drive should show in the normal bios setup screen
whereas the hpt366 you wouldn't see them

the drilling, of cap holes with too much solder in them, was easy.
useing a small drill that fits the hole, loosely, you do it by finger, not with a high speed drill driving it.
you only have to clear enough of a hole to get the cap leg through.
